4th Street Recording
AK works closely with 4th Street Recording in Downtown Santa Monica. The studio has a great live room and an excellent collection of vintage gear, including a 1973 API 3224 console. It is also where Beach Boys recorded Cocomo, Incubus recorded S.C.I.E.N.C.E, The Neighbourhood recorded I Love You. (including the hit single Sweater Weather), and a bunch of other awesome records. The studio is famous for its great vibe, someone once called it “a pirate spaceship from the 70’s”. See and read more about the studio and it’s interesting history on 4thstreetrecording.com
Electric Drive Recording
When in Norway, AK has a mix room in the newly established Electric Drive Recording in Bergen. The studio also sports a great sounding live room, is fully based around a hybrid approach to recording and mixing, and has a lot of fun and quirky audio toys. With it’s large lounge, EDR is a very relaxed and comfortable recording space in walking distance from Downtown Bergen. In the studio, you’ll find an Amek Recall console, Focusrite and Universal audio preamps, a solid collection of microphones and amplifiers, and KRK, Yamaha and Event Acoustics monitoring.
